Let’s look at the Downtown
March 19, 2008
Currently, the City, through it’s various committees, organizations, and commisssions is trying to figure out the best way it can help to improve the downtown. The Planning Commission is discussing it, the Downtown Development Authority is discussing it, and so is City Council. There have also been discussions about doing surveys and polling residents and visitors alike about what they think would help improve the central business district. So, I am hoping as I really begin to advertise this forum that there are some constructive suggestions from those that read this entry. Also, what types of businesses should the City pursue in the near future? What kinds of products and services are needed to compliment the existing businesses in the downtown? Rest assured that I will distribute the comments and thoughts that are left here to the appropriate organizations. Ultimately, how can we continue to enhance the downtown?
Please remember this is an open forum and an attempt at having an open discussion about an aspect of the City. Inappropriate and/or vulgar content will not be published. Thank you for your input.
And so we begin…

So, this is an experiment, an experiment to see what types of discussion we can generate about the City and thoughts on where the City should go from here. The main goal of this blog is to create an interactive forum for the residents of South Lyon, Michigan. I will be happy to answer any questions that the readers may have about the City. I will also be attempting to post a weekly article for consumption about some aspect of the City and it’s administration. Please feel free to leave a comment or a question. I have required that to leave a comment, you must be registered.
I should also introduce myself, I am Kristen Cunningham, the City’s Director of Community and Economic Development. WELCOME!
